Yes High street music and game store has gone into Admin today ... http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/jan/15/jobs-hmv-administrators what do you think about it all ??

It's a bit sad as I use to love going in there and buying CDs from the metal section ages ago. However it was to be expected.. It's been in trouble for a while mainly due to competition from the Internet and the big supermarkets. Recently when I've been in the larger HMV stores people just tend to hang out and don't buy anything. Anyway I feel for all those that will lose their jobs..

It's really sad! Me and my mates used to hang out there all the time and buy stuff whenever we had the money! I feel for everyone losing their jobs there and for everyone who liked actually leaving the house to buy CDs and games :/

I feel sorry for the guys who are gonna lose their jobs :( but it was expected. They were more expensive than the competition, personally I only bought things from there occasionally as I couldn't afford to buy too many things :(

dudes hmv i have a map of my local store, could never find which level or where the hell i needed to be. i ove the place i never buy anything off the internet...the other day i needed some shit for my camera went to four different shops all closed down ened up going to john lewis and pain duble fuck thi dam world!!!! xx

There has been some news lately in the pipeline that GAME may buy HMV.

I can see that being a possibility.. but i still feel sorry for all the employees who have lost there jobs

It's only going to be closed down if they can't find a buyer for it... so it's n to out of the woods yet. There's just a risk that HMV will be closed down.

A company called Hilco has now got control of HMV so hopefully it will not close down.

I find it really sad.. That place was almost my childhood, I used to spend ages hanging out in the basement looking at metal and rock :/ It also aggravates me because there aren't any other music retailers near me (as far as I know :3)

Apparently Asda have bought all the old Blockbusters stores too, they're planning to turn them into their version of Tesco Express, which will be cool.
