Perplexing Conundrum of 'Cross-Scene' Dating Jun 19 2013, 04:42 PM
Do you think that people should stay within their scene when they date? I never understood the idea that emo people should only date emo people, or goth people should only date other goths, etc. I've heard many times that people find cross-scene dating strange, and I guess that I never understood why. My boy's style is preppy/skater mixed with dandygoth, and he loves old school cars... So...You know. He's not exactly in my scene. But we still work. Thoughts?

I think you should date whatever fudging 'scene' you want as long as the person can accept you and visa verse. If someone makes you happy then fuck it.

stuff scenes ... love is love no matter what subculture you are part of ! personally i've been out with complete mix of guys from all sorts of cultures and subcultures

i dont think it matters... i mean some people work a lot better when there a lot in common but i've been with guys who are not like me. :)

Well my boyfriend's a metalgoth, and I'm a ... well, whatever the hell I am, not 100% sure, but definitely not a metalgoth xD ... and we've been together 1 year 9 months and are moving in together soon :) so there you go :P
