my mom found out im cutting.. Jul 15 2013, 01:17 AM
i told everyone a cat did it but i guess that didnt last since the cuts keep becoming fresher and fresher.. she keeps making fun of me, calling me dark and scary.. and telling me she askes herself why she has such a weird daughter.. i feel like shit. what do i do about this?

I just didnt want them finding out at all. I knew they would judge me, And it really hurts my feelings. if she didnt care then it shows that she doesnt love me, but she doesnt help me, she just makes fun of me and acts like she wants a different daughter.. So I guess she really doesnt.. And I guess I dont care, but she needs to just leave me alone.

I've been in a similar situation. My mum said that I belonged in a mental hospital once and my step dad called me loopy. You just have to explain to them why you do it and ask them not to blame themselves if they're not part of the reason (unless they are then try to explain it to them why they're part of the reason in the nicest possible way) and just give them some time to get over it. Most parents are really shocked and hurt to find out their kid does that to themselves. Also, it's a good idea to be patient with them cos you may have lost a lot of trust they had in you. I'm a few months clean and my parents still don't trust me. Hope this helps :)

she was going to find out eventually.. parents are not stupid like that (not saying your thinking they're stupid or whatnot) Maybe trying to get some help to stop it, talk to your mum about it. I would advise to try and stop. With me i went counselling and it wasn't what he said that helped, it was more that i knew if i did cut during the period of being there he would have to call other people for i would of been a harm to myself and i didn't want to run the risk of being put somewhere away from home.

some parents really don't no how to handle cutting they never ask if your ok or if they can help or even try to understand when my mom found out she was just pissy like cut that shit out that's stupid she acted like I just did it to be cool and not like I actually had a problem it pissed me off like y the fuck would I hurt my self to be cool????

Well.. You should really talk to her about what's happening to you and why you do it. I used to cut and my dad found out, I told him what happened, it was painful, but it is way better than bleeding out and dying, and I didn't want them to lose me, it would've been selfish, my mom went through a lot of medication to have me and I was not going to die for something stupid.. Just stay strong and tell them why you do that.
