I love Iron Maiden, but I'm not too fond of punk (like, ya know, hardcore punk, not like pop punk) music, although I respect it. So... I don't really care about this whole ordeal xD It honestly looks lame when musicians bash on bands/music genres... Either way, it's not gonna make me like Iron Maiden any less c:

Bruce has been on a bashing streak for awhile, he's an old crotchity man yelling at the kids and there new fangled punk music. I say let him do what he wants, he's not really harming anyone.

asides form this story being afew weeks old.. like the post above Maiden are old veterans of the scene, taking out their anger on other bands..abit like playground bitching but for adults. Most bands do it at some point too , be them old or new, it's a uglier part of the music industry.. it basically vents for them and creates publicity. literally nothing more too it ,other than to split opinions and create more interest in the band and possibly turn a small profit from it. besides the modern so called 'punk ' scene is more like light hearted post hardcore crossed with pop punk it's not as raw as it was /could be, not saying that all the modern bands are like that. some are still raw and remain along the old school routes others /a majority have diversified to survive and make money. but it would be nice if maiden remember were their roots were, as they too were first influenced alittle by punk! to be frank Metallica , SlipKnot ,MIW ,AA have all done similar things in the past few months too so it's nothing new

Its kind of ironic because here they are bitching to make a statement...but like man thats so punk! "We hate what society is coming to so we are going to complain about it". Idk, i try to distance myself from stuff like that. Drama is lame lol. What did metallica do though? They tend to get caught up into stuff, alot of other members of the big four of thrash tend to snake on them b/c well i guess in society's eyes anthrax, megadeth, and slayer are always second after metallica. Plus megadeth and metallica have their own ongoing battle going on, every since dave got kicked out of metallica in the 80s and the whole the four horsemen/mechanix mess theyve always been hostile towards eachother. Other than that i havent really seen much of metallica fighting. And as for slayer, i think its like in their nature. They're great guys and they make great music but i feel like they feel pressured to be so tough and stuff in the music media. I mean, if you were in whats considered the 'worlds loudest and most intense band' youd try to act a whole lot tougher and badass, at least i would lol

mettalica hit back at maiden with afew breif statements and one subtle one at their Glastonbury show aimed at all the nay sayers inc bruce which not surprisingly pissed Maiden off even more the other big "metal" bands have been relative quite about their scuffles recently

Not sure , i like maiden and punk music so im in between but i think bruce was just bashing bands they we up against back i the day. Even though i like iron maiden's music , i think bruce needs to shut his gob and sit back down
