Since the site has been running we have received a number of requests from parents of members to remove their child's profile. Almost all have been down to a false age (generally a couple of years older) or inappropriate content. What's your views on this? Of course if they are going against the Terms and Conditions then they will be warned and the content changed/deleted, but removing their profile altogether is a last resort. To any of the parents such matters are take seriously, but also fairly for both parties.

hmm well to be honest i'd never show this site too my parents but that is partially because i dont want them to get theire nose in my buisness , but i've never really seen someone act compleatly inapropeate so i think the parents sometimes just over react

My mom knows about this site, and she has my password for it, she could delete it anytime she wants, but she doesn't because she knows that I feel safe here and that this is one of the only places that I feel that people can relate to me and that I can relate to them. Sure, I don't come here much, because I don't have internet at home, but I come here everytime I get the chance to be on the computer. It's not like this site is encouraging such behavior anyways. If someone wants to do something, they'll find ways to do it. Delete a profile with innapropriate content, and it's most likely that they'll find somewhere else to post it up.

I don't think they should be removed. Ten years from now, the kid is going to reflect in detail how much they've grown after they stop coming back. They'll realize the tough times he/she has gone through. Also, this site actually lets kids express their feelings without being judged. Parents shouldn't take that away. Parents are like psychiatrists who think they're capable of being psychologists. They're not. They can't fix us. They only give us meds. I know first-hand.

i kind of made this account without telling my family....i wish it did not have to be this way but, they would have me delete it since there so strict :( i can't delete it until they find out about it which I hope is never :)

Well not that i am a kid anymore i just look like one :L but i rarely listen's to what my parents says :O i stopped doing that when i was 14 >_> anyway well when i was under 18 then they were maybe against it but i didnt give a fuck :O and my granny and her husband is all positive about it :] i have even been able to make my granny's husband knowing what emo music is hehe :) and he is 60 + years old x

I created this site without my parents knowing and get on it at school because Im not allowed to be on the computer at home. My folks wouldn't understand and would try and take it away from me. And I wont let them.

This is going back a good 10 years or so but had this site been around then my parents probably wouldn't have approved. They were never keen with me talking to strangers online (and all hell broke lose when i had an internet bf at age 15-that did not go down well!). It's a shame because compared to other darker parts of the internet i'd say this is a pretty safe place for teens (and the rest of us) to come to and hang out and share their issues with like minded people.

I feel that i am blessed to actually have internet and electronics,The laptop i use is my mothers which i have at all times since she has a school laptop.She doesnt go looking into the laptop nor getting into all of my business or atleast it try not to give her any chance of that. I feel that we should try to atleast respect the fact that they provide us with such but however if they are all up in your business or watching everything you do you should say something like "can i ever have privacy?" something not rude or disrespectful.I go through the same thing at my grandparents, my grandmother lets me go on her computer how ever she is a very religous person so it's like everything i do she wants to see after a while, if she sees one bad word like "evil" she freaks.But she can't help it C;

That's probably how my mum would react if she found out I was on here, and I'm an adult xD Unfortunately, because of the media, a lot of parents think that everyone their children talk to on the internet is a paedophile. When I was 12, I was actually approached by someone of that sort, and I could tell after a few days exactly the sort of person he was. If you're sensible, it's pretty easy to stay safe.
